Current Status: CONFUSED

UPDATE: It's complicated, but the short version is: Kaylune's site went down because v-petsite revamped. And the new-and-improved Kaylune (off v-petsite) is almost finished. But the owners are thinking of taking it in a new direction. I'm not entirely sure what that direction is, or what it means for the contest. The contest may be postponed? I'll try to update again when I find out more about it.

Kaylune is a new, growing petsite in its Beta stages. Right now it is on a v-petsite but we are working to move it off there with more features than before.
In the meantime we thought it'd be fun for members to create the next pet species!

The Theme
Draw, or write a detailed description, of a new pet species for Kaylune.

The Rules
Nothing inappropriate please.
Don't steal pets from other sites.
You can submit up to three entries.
Staff will have their own seperate contest to be fair. ^^ So when you submit your entries title them either 'member' or 'staff' depending on which one you are.
Add your Kaylune username when you submit your entry.
You must be a member of Kaylune to enter. For prize reasons. So join now!

Tips
We don't want anything too similar to another site's. Kaylune is striving for a fresh unique look.

Don't make it bloody/gory.

Create something that was made JUST for Kaylune.
Not something you've entered in another contest before. Or something you've had in your old story or roleplay. Or something that you doodled one day and has been sitting in your deviantArt gallery for months.
The reason for this is we don't want people seeing our pet and thinking (a) Kaylune is unoriginal and stole it, (b) this pet reminds me of another pet/art/writing site, (c) I've seen this before it's not NEW.

Also you are creating this pet with the understanding that it is JUST for Kaylune and if it is chosen to be a pet/kale on Kaylune then you can't use it for anything else.

Where to turn in entries
People can turn in entries to me (Hotleray) and I can post them all in one thread on the Kaylune fansite (AvD). I can also post them in a journal here on my dA account Fatalityfold. :3
Either message me on Kaylune, or AvD, or the Kaylune Temp Forums. Include your Kaylune username and whether you are a member or a staff member.

Prizes
First prize: Your pet design gets drawn by one of the artists into a species for Kaylune. Plus you get 150,000 kC.
Second prize: Your pet design gets drawn into a Kale by one of the artists on Kaylune. Plus you get 100,000 kC.
Third prize: Your pet design gets drawn into a Kale by one of the artists on Kaylune. Plus you get 50,000 kC.
Fourth prize: 40,000 kC
Fifth prize: 30,000 kC
Sixth prize: 20,000 kC
Seventh prize: 10,000 kC

Voting
And there are two votes. A public vote. Where the members of Kaylune send Tyler messages of what three species they like best. And a judge vote. Where the co-owners + Tyler decide which one they like best.

The public votes first. The Judges, based on the results of the public vote, then make their own decision.

Deadline
The Contest started August 7th. It ends September 22. It can be extended if needed.

The public judging would take either three weeks or till we get 20 votes, whichever comes first. Then the judges would get a week to decide after that.

Follow Up Contest
There may be a follow up contest to decide upon a name for the species.

Be prepared to give me your email, so I can send you a high res copy when I am finished.

Lost this round at *PCBC. Which is probably a good thing because it was kind of stressing me out. As ~Tofubeast pointed out to me, I'm not very good at sequence art. Haha

I don't think I'm going to enter the next tourney. PCBC made some changes that I don't feel were for the best. They eliminated the rules 'no cussing, no nudity, and no extreme violence'. And now for me it's not fun anymore. There are already vast changes with people cussing every other word in the shoutbox and partially nude bodies in the comics and dirty fanart. For some people it's not a big deal, for me, some things should be kept private. And PCBC no longer is good clean fun, but losing it's taste.

I don't think anyone was creatively blocked by those rules. There are tons of good comics out there without cussing, nudity, and decapidating.

Okay so like, I've been having the greatest weekend to weekend EVER!! Last weekend my boyo was over and we went to the fair and he won me a huge Batman toy <3<3<3 and quoted Joker from the new Batman movie while we were on the Zipper making that ride an even more unforgettable experience!! It's so freaky/awesome, he sounds just like him and does the face just right and laughed hysterically. D: X) Drives me wild. <3<3<3
And we went to the beach and played in the water and we went to another beach later with my fam and my cousin and her husband and cooked hotdogs and smores over a fire! And went to a chocolate shop and bought lots of goodies, I still have my rapidly dwindling bag of chocolates. <3

It was just an incredible weekend and I had to wait a WHOLE WEEK to see him again. Okay, like four days. Haha
This time I went down to see him and I went to his amazing concert Friday night (he looks so freakin' hot on stage with is guitar X3), then Saterday we went shopping and then saw Tropic Thunder (Which is a freakin' hilarious movie, I approve we laughed so hard!). Then Sunday was our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY and we went to Teatre Zinzanni (go ahead, check it out online)! Which was PERFECT because I hate formal stiff boring stuff and this was formal but you could also have facepaint and boas and masquerade masks and all sorts of fun and crazy things on too. We got escorted there and back in a spectacular town car that was so freakin' nice inside!
I was wearing a little black dress that fit me perfectly, cute little black designer heels, a white leopard print clutch, diamond earrings, and an adorable tailored jacket. He was wearing a sweet sauce tailored button up black collared shirt, a softly checkered black and goldish/silverish tie that I picked out, rockin' belt, black slacks and spiffeh shiny shoes. <3<3<3 He looked so smart and sexy. X)
And the food was made by a winner from Iron Chef and it was AMAZING and the show/theatrics/acrobatics were INCREDIBLE and they interacted with the audience and it was so fun. And the singer came down to our table (we were front row to the stage) and looked at us as she sang and two actors playing at love as they walked around paused and smiled and pointed at me and Teggers holding hands across the two person table. And we all got to get up and slow dance at one point and I danced for the first time with him and he dipped me back at the end and it was so AJFOIDNASDVJKSDFLKASDMNFAKLSDNF;IASJKDFKANSD (indescribable) X). And at the very end...Tommy took out a little box and a paper. And he read to me from the paper a list of promises and opened the box and showed me the most gorgeous promise ring of all time. X) And when we got home we showed everyone and everyone was wanting to see it and going 'awwww' and it was amazing. X)

Teggerz is so freakin' perfect. X) You have no idea. Him and me mesh so well it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. <3<3<3 I could brag about him for hours, but I'm going to go wake him up now. Silly sleepy head. X)
